Family Fun

This past weekend has been a blast packed with lots of family who I don't always get to see. So we played a bunch of games which included a white elephant gift exchange. The day after Thanksgiving my cousins and I had to go to the store to get some random gift no more than $5 for this game. Well my cousin Sean got this extra large red thong for his gift and we couldn't stop laughing about it. So we go home and wrap them up and did the gift exchange game that night. Finally, I think it was the last present to be opened, my cousin's husband opened the thong and it was pretty great. Well since we always make random home videos when we get together we used the thong as one of our props and everyone wore it at some point or another. My brother who always does the funniest things in our home vids, put on this black wig with the thong over it like a do rag and a pirate hat and we got a clip of him with a completely serious face. That made my day. So as you can see I have a crazy family but we have so much fun when we get together!

Thanksgiving!

So I pretty much had an awesome thanksgiving. A bunch of family came out and I ate tons of food. My boyfriend Reed spent it with us and it was so much fun. Then they had him dress up like santa for the little kids and they got to sit on his lap and open presents. They also gave me santa hat that said "kiss santa" and I was his so called helper. SO I actually got to kiss santa clause! How cool am I? We then busted out some of our home videos and that gave us a good laugh. I love when the family gets together. I also went to see Twilight yesterday but we all might go see it again tomorrow it was pretty amazing. I am sooo thankful to have all the people that I have in my life.

Holiday Time

So as the Holidays are approaching I'm getting excited for all the family to get together. Thanksgiving is in a few days and I figure I would take a minute to be thankful and share some of my thoughts. As I have in the past week lost a cousin I have a greater love and gratitude for my family. I would not want to lose a sibling at this point in my life I love them all. So I had this conversation with my little sister after the funeral and for some reason she asked me who would I be more sad if they died my boyfriend Reed or herself. Well I couldn't even imagine losing him because he's the best thing in my life right now, but what I said to her was, "I could always find a new boyfriend but I could never get another Sharron." I later told her not to tell him I said that. Either way it would be hard so I'm just hoping no one dies on me. Obviously I love them both so I really don't know, but then I told her it would be a different story had we been married I would chose him and tell her I'd meet her in heaven. This is all in good humor. I love my family tons and am so thankful for them. I absolutely love my boyfriend Reed and cannot even begin to express my thanks for everything he is to me. He has helped me so much, more than he even knows. I think sometimes I need to do a better job at expressing my gratitude toward people but I am always thankful for anyone who does the smallest act of kindness for me. I only wish this Holiday season I could be of help to people and remember to always be grateful!

Not soon forgotten

Well today was my cousin Derek's funeral. It was the most spiritual, sweet, and draining day I've had for a while. He is not one to be soon forgotten, his memory will live on forever in our family. See if you knew Derek he's the kind of kid that could make any situation humorous. This funeral probably had more laugher than any other I know of. Since Derek was such a funny kid all his family had to tell were funny stories. We were laughing and crying all at the same time, it was an emotionally draining day. See I know that Derek had a mission to fulfill, he's where he is needed most so it makes it ok. He was taken from this earth at the young age of 21, because there are other plans in store for him. Since this is a day of rememberance and celebration of the life of Derek Lowry I want to dedicate this blog to him and remember some of the things about his life and some stories that were shared today.
First off I remember his brother Jordan talk about how he liked to name their pets weird names, and had a cat named Steve. He even tried to change one of their siblings pet's names to Justin, and also had a dog named Mason. Well he had a love for pets and when he and his brother found a chipmunk that was hurt he caught it, went into Wendy's to get a bag for it, then went to the petstore and bought a cage and food. Jordan noted how he even gave it a bath.
Well there were a few things during the course of this service that made me cry. One was his brother Andy. When he spoke about how he was leaving on his mission and sweet little Derek (12 at the time) started bawling, but didn't want anyone to know he was crying. He said when he left Derek jumped up on a chair and yelled across the whole room, "I love you Andy!" Andy then says, "Now it's my turn to say, I love you Derek!" This touched me because they know he's now serving his mission.
It also touched me just the siblings love for their brother. The way they showed it without extreme grief, although they were all hurting. It was the sweetest and most touching thing to see the way they stood over his casket last night at the viewing. The way his sister Jena ran her fingers through his hair like way to go brother you're finally there although we'll miss you so much. And to see the tears of love. It nearly broke my heart, but after hearing them all speak and seeing how strong they were it just made me think, yea way to go Derek go serve your mission we'll all meet you there shortly.

*Derek is the blonde one, the only blonde son. I put this picture up because I love the bond he had with his siblings, and I think it's the cutest picture I've ever seen.

Little Suprises

So last week I get woken up at 5:57 by a phone call from my mother, who sleeps upstairs. She asked if I was up getting ready for school and since I didn't have a class till one I told her I was still sleeping. Then she just told me that I might want to come upstairs and see what Reed (my boyfriend) left for me. I was kind of confused because I was with him the whole night before and left his house at midnight and it was now 6 in the morning. So I wandered upstairs to find by the front door a duck pinata full of candy and a big poster board which read "An Ode To Diana." (I really wish that I could get the pictures on here) Anyway so this is what it said:
I love your freckled lip.
I love when dancing you dip.
I love how you tackle life though it may be messy.
I love how beautiful you look in pj's or dressy.
I love when I get stressed you are there for support.
I love how we have so much fun together as we date and court.
I love that you chose me though I'm a big dork!
I love to express my love to you even w/ your lawn and fork(s).
I love most of all that I wouldn't change you,
I'm forever yours babe through and through.
<3 Reedo!
So after reading this and laughing at how cute and dorky my boyfriend is I went outside to look at the lawn and in it he had forked our initials. After going back inside and crawling back in bed my mom texted me and said "did you see the lawn and your car?" My car too? I thought, so I got back up went outside again and on every window of my car he had written something (again I really wish I could get the pictures up). On the back it read "Honk if you believe in love" and he had put things like "Taken" "forever babe" "Reed and Di" and "I <3 U"
Turns out after I left his house instead of going to sleep he called up his cousin and went to Macey's to get all the stuff. He then came all the way up to my house at 2am. Are you convinced I have the best boyfriend yet? Better believe it!!
